7/17/08 ETS Staff Meeting

6. No Power in the Library on August 9th (Sat) - Need to shut everything down on Friday at 9:00 p.m.
7. The new maintenance window has been approved - Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. have been approved. Will go into effect the week of August 11th. With the late start time, I will approve time off on following days as appropriate.
8. ITS Values Statement for Professional Appearance - will be discussed in our annual meeting - bring any specific questions to me.
9. Remove the ETS and ITRC "Logo" We can replace with word for functionality. We will stop using our blue ETS logo without new approval
10. Jennifer Baker - New Assistant VP for Finance and Admin. Come from U of South Florida
11. Buddy now reports to Jim Fletcher
12. New Business Officers are now in place and report to Jim Fletcher through Phil Blick and Jennifer Baker
13. Governor issues a budgetary caution for next year - cut backs and hold backs are possible
14. Anything over $300 is a felony misappropriation of funds
15. New Training position established in HR
16. Customer Service is emphasized again based on a couple of experiences recently by Laura Vailis and a SBOE daughter - Be polite and civil, escalate if necessary or possible
17. University is going to implement a full-time emp background check - automating process with a formal contract with outside agency. Student employees may be rolled into this either by the Unviersty or ITS down the road and ITRC students would likely need a background check.
18. IRON - we may be back in with some new compromises - means more bandwidth for us, maybe up to 400 meg
19. Back up licenses - see spreadsheet - what do we need to have backed up and what can we live without
20. New Books!!!!
21. Talk about Computers and Printer to Boise - I might be making a trip on August 1st.
22. New voice mail system coming - ITS will be first out - we will be getting a transfer date from Mark soon.

24. Did we talk to anyone in English about the Mac and Moodle issue?
