Notes for ETS - 12/14/07

  • New Book
  • Holiday work schedule - who will be here on the 31st?
  • Holiday projects?
  • May be a budget crackdown on spending funds on Christmas Parties, tokens, etc.......
  • Strategic plan - we are starting discussion with a public hearing on what currently exists - Don't get excited about anything you read.
  • Can we ask Moodle developers if they are doing any direct hardware requests from Moodle? Can we submit a question to the developers about the shutdown over the weekend. Do we think any of the load testing caused this?
  • Moodle on-call list? What do I do with Ann and Michael? Can both be gone at the same time? Do they both need a cell phone? Talk with staff about what we need to do with this.
  • Second Life tests ongoing with John Story. But indications are it takes significant bandwidth and response is slow. Mark, Tony, Randy and communicating with Kregg and John about this.
  • Sarah is interviewing for the trainer job with David Alexander/ERP
  • NetTel is monitoring Moodle/Network on the 7th - for PA
  • Wireless access for visitors (conferences, guests, athletics) Mark instituting a web page to register for Internet only.
  • Math Lab - have we done everything we were asked to do? Anything on the testing lab vs the "other" lab? Needs to be operational by spring semester
  • Landro system for counseling - equipment will be here in 3-4 weeks (need to get this in our schedule)
  • Change Presentation - Team Building activity on building business processes - who could be available? Make a list and assign them to attend. Wednesday January 30 from 9:00 to 11:00 or 10:00 to 12:00 (e-mail David on who will attend) Mike, Ann, Jared, Lori, Ana, Jim, Guy, Matt, Mike, Ryan, Katie, Bobbie (Jerry Bracken - BYU) E-mail David a count next week
  • Les is moving to SLC for the weekends - his wife is going to Murray and he is leaving on Fridays and returning on Mondays
  • On-call Policy = for classified employees only (policy coming from HR/David Miller)
  • Bio Medical complex - gail life center. A potential new building in the future
  • Wireless is funded as a convenience only on this campus - we need to positively spin this when asked
  • Order one more small profile HP - per the order of four - swap it out with an old HP - general computer purchases?
  • Deb Shien is the new senior trainer on the ERP
  • Are we still logging everything on the Moodle servers
