  • Questions about taking leave on Veterans Day or Columbus Day?
  • FYI - cordless phones, microwaves, personal WAPs, and cell phones are all possible interferers with ISU wireless
  • For this year only - Fletcher has said no one will have to take time off without pay for the Christmas shutdown. They are going to allow people to work if other arrangements can't be made.
  • All comp time should be preapproved by Jim or Mike - I'd like to hear about it as well.
  • New Housing Director hired - coming Jan. 1
  • Al, Cory, Skip talked with Randy about a grant proposal for virtual museum/lesson plans. Would probably involve a lesson repository on campus
  • We should have Cable TV (CableOne) in all Rendezvous classrooms - try a TV in a classroom. Should have CableOne going into it
  • Academic Council - Policy on fees for distance students?? Linda Hats wants something official
  • Nepotism policy - can't supervise family
  • Doug Pendalton coming back to fill in - Jeanne Potter retiring this spring

  • Serious electrical problems in Rendezvous - power has been going down on the classroom side several times
  • Google Groups vs Moodle for sharing files and research - should we push people toward Groups instead of setting up something on Moodle
  • Chairs - Who needs a new chair who has a chair that is causing them problems (Bobbie)
  • Darl can use the extra desk (the one from VA 117) we have - take it to him over the thanksgiving week.
  • Search engine changed on November 10th.
  • Alteris will not back up Vista - so if Vista backup is important - Don't change to Vista if back up is important
  • Bomgar - remote support (Windows remote support) bomgar.com (third party appliance) Wednesday - Tony to come up and train us on the appliance Wednesday 11/21 at 10:00 in the ITRC lab.
  • Need to schedule a Moodle Project Meeting with Darl to discuss SAN transition. It is very close - However, there may not be enough network ports for the Helix. We may need to request more to get the Helix on the SAN.
  • I have the temporary ability to give windows live e-mail accounts (up to 50) if anyone cares or is interested.
  • Effective Communication, John Couper, will be Thursday, Nov. 29th in B13 and Boise 138 and IF 314 - all are invited.
