5/19 - ETS Staff Meeting

  • Shelly Ashbocker - Moodle Student Last year email?
  • Gary Olsen is asking if we can keep exchange - Randy to work on that. Already gave up position as well as cost involved in server and maintenance
  • Insurance (posted on website) is going up a little for full-time employees - if you don't buy generics you pay more, and part-time folks are really getting hit hard, deductions going to be coming out every paycheck instead of once a month, Delta Dental not carrying the dental package.
  • Open enrollment time - get enrolled now
  • Government to Government Section - Proposal for Moodle with the School District (Not due until June 12th to Randy)
  • Anyone using the VPN needs to download a new client immediately - bengalgateway.isu.edu
  • Steve Anderson Leaving
  • Greg Horton Leaving
  • Joe Steiner Leaving
  • No Phone Directory going to be printed this year
  • Not going to install the Real Player on the 2009 lab configurations
  • Not going to install IE 8 in the labs - going to stay with IE 7
  • Personal Vehicle usage memo - any questions or concerns?
  • Holdbacks next year are always a possibility - but no specific news despite any rumors you might hear.
  • Security MAPP - Going to the President's Cabinet can. Impact is we can not store sensitive information on your own computer without encryption.
  • Academic history has been loaded in Banner back to 1988 - a great start to the process - only 42 records were rejected.
  • Asked again about using Moodle or Google Docs as a means to conduct elections on campus. I strongly suggested we don't use either for this purpose - but there may be followup discussion about Google Forms.
  • Conflicker scans only found two instances. ISOS will be doing followup Conflicker scans
  • lx6.isu.edu/security - any comments on this proposed web site?
