3/10/00 ETS Staff Meeting

• Stimulus Packages - All my proposal went to the state - no definitive answer on how much total money or state's priority
• Gaines Staff Meeting has moved to 2:00 p.m on Mondays
• Customer Service ideas- ways to have fun at work: Ringtone competition, chili cookoff, bowling -Looking to find ways to have fun and combine the IT units
• Root Passwords - Root Passwords are available if we need them. ISOS will issue a temporary root password. Otherwise, we will maintain the same access we currently have in Moodle. Do we need to have access to the root password to be effective and efficient? I've open the door and if we want to push for a change, now is the time.
• Can we run elections through Moodle? Polling feature - everyone have access - Christi Lauer has been evaluating the election tools available and we may be asked to give her access/instruction on what can be done through Moodle for the student body.
• Are we all set up with Proxy's on Timesheets? Me for everyone but Guy, Casey, and Frank which is Jim. Can we check that and try it next timesheet/timeperiod.
• State Board Audit Committee - Wants more financial information from ISU. MossAdams (Auditor) is complaining they aren't getting enough information.
• Going forward two different tuition increase proposals - 7% or 9.5% depending on the additional 2% budget cuts from base
• Legislature not going to adjourn until mid April - fees to be set at April 6th board meeting.
• No Occupancy costs this year and ISU also wants to build up reserves. - Considering 70 -100 workforce reductions.
• Travel is very sensitive - we have an exemption, but will have to do something less.
• Gary Olsen starts March 31 as the new Provost
• Diversity Training ready in Moodle? - What is the latest?
• Major .254 segment maintenance plan scheduled for the Thursday of Spring Break. We will need to test our systems on Friday morning early. What are the vacation plans that week?
• Get ISU Guest accounts for the March 20th event - contact Mark about getting a user id and password. Need Mac address and names. Dan Case and Donna Olsen are coming
  
• A thrid maintenance window is going to be added on Wednesday night - ISOS on Tuesday, Netel on Wednesday, and EA on Thursday. We would move to Thursday. When need to announce it to faculty and students soon! They are going to make this happen quickly...... Mark and Randy looking at last minute questions. We would clear all our maintenance through Rick Hargis and Tony is still the communications gathering point - at least 24 hour notice required. We need to let the Help Desk Operator know when we are done with maintenance so they know everything is back up.
• Alteris doesn't work with Vista - Hans is working on a fix but Alteris is bought by Symantec and may be going away - who uses Altiris?

• WCET web conferencing sessions
